Grab your dog, your fishing pole, and a picnic lunch-- and some bug spray.

Head out of town on Gum Branch Road. Go through the Western Boulevard intersection, and look for the Raintree subdivision a mile or so on your left.

Turn left into Raintree on Raintree Road and go to 541. There is a gravel road directly across the street from 541. The gravel road has a low chain across it, so park and walk from here-- don't forget the dog, the pole, and the lunch.

Walk down the gravel road through the woods about 1/4 mile until it dead ends at the river. At the waters edge, turn 90 degrees to your right, and follow the trail that skirts the water for about 25 paces (count every time your left foot hits the ground) to the second clump of trees on the riverbank.

From here, turn sharp right about 135 degrees (almost doubling back). You will see a faint trail which angles back into the woods . About 6-7 paces up this trail, you will see a tree on your left with an exposed web of roots on the south side of the tree.

You will find what you are looking for under this web of roots. If you are afraid to stick you hand under the roots, just poke around with a stick until you hear the stick hit something metal.

For non-military types, you will soon find out what is historically called the "King of Battle".

For those who already know the King of Battle, you can just ignore all the directions above and find the letterbox at MGRS grid 18S TD 73862 54320.
