Once again, follow Kat's directions to 'Cliff Dwellers' first. Our boxes are on the same trail, and hers will be first. Be sure to read about Butler Wash in Kat's directions. It's a fascinating place, well worth a visit. Don't forget your camera!

This box is near the cliff edge, so those with children. . .be careful!

Directions: After finding 'Cliff Dwellers', continue on the trail until you come to the fence that corrals those on two legs from falling off the edge of the rock. Enjoy looking at a piece of our ancient history. The dwellings you see are as real as the Indians who once roamed this wonderful part of the world. The BLM has done a little restoration, but the majority has been left alone.

After you have seen the dwellings, find the bench inside the fence. Stand behind the bench at the south end. Start at the first fence post. Look 220*. Walk about 15 steps. (Don't walk too many more, or you'll be over the edge!) The box is on the edge, under a pile of rocks. (Of course!)

This area may be busy. I have only visited during the winter when tourists are few and far between. Be sure to rehide well.

Be sure to bring plenty of water with you in the spring and summer months. It can get pretty hot out there, and there aren't any services closeby.

Journal and handmade stamp.
