From I-35 take the highway 60 East (Tonkawa Exit) to highway 77 South of Ponca City. This is 14th street. Take 14th street north three stop light. The Pioneer woman statue and museum will be on your right. Turn right on Lake Road and head east until you reach Kaw Lake.
You will pass by a water park and a small tavern/eating establishment then pass by "McFadden Cover Day Use Area. Continue across the dam.
Turn left on Osage Cove Road. After about 2 miles, turn left again on Osage Cove Park Road. On the left you will see a parking area and a sign pointing to the Eagle View Trail.
Follow the tail through the woods and across an opening.
Stay on the trail until you see a bright yellow post with a 4 wheel trail crossing your path. Turn right onto the four wheel trail. There will immediately be a huge cedar on the right. Keep going and you'll see a family of cedar trees on the right. One "teenager" appears to be leaving home for the trail. Behind him are Dad, Mom and baby brother standing together. Check in Dad's branches close to the trunk for your treasure.
