***Alive and well on May 14, 2007***

Dashing Dino was enjoying his solitary tour of downtown Rochester. He was particularly drawn to the Genesee River and noticed an enticing smell wafting from the east side. As he crossed the Court St. Bridge, he saw what appeared to be an old railroad station–and indeed it was! The old Lehigh Valley Train Station had been turned into a restaurant.

“I’m a bit hungry,” thought the Dino, “Perhaps, I’ll stop in for a bite.” It was then that the Dino noticed the name of the restaurant, Dinosaur Barbecue.*

The Dino stopped dead in his tracks until he realized the full meaning of what he was reading.“DINOSAUR BARBECUE!?” he screamed. “I have to get out of here and warn my family!”

The Dino dashed east until he reached a traffic light.
He turned left, crossed the street, and entered a land of circles and diamonds.
“Diamond, circle, diamond, circle”
He looked to his left and saw the words “. . . the meaning of life.”
“LIFE,” he thought. “Yes! I want life. Life with my family again. I must find them.”
He ran up five ledges and passed through an entryway into a stone-lined cavern.
Up ahead, he could see a large wood with small trees.
He passed through another entryway and quickly discovered that his family was not there.
He retreated back into the stone cavern and noticed the word “Depart . . .”
“Depart! That is what I must do, but how?”
He noticed a descending dolomite tunnel and dashed into it.
When the tunnel leveled out, he noticed a weather report. “SUNY” it said.
“SUNY” thought the Dino. “My family would be somewhere sunny. Someone needs to check their spelling."
He followed the “SUNY” sign to a second one and found himself in another large chamber.
He continued ahead past the watering hole to two sets of silver doors.
At the moment of his arrival, one set of doors opened. He passed through them and noticed hieroglyphics on the wall.
He pressed the one that looked like “3” and waited to see what would happen.
Eventually the doors opened and he passed through.
Where was he? He needed to get his bearings.
He noticed that this cavern had portals to the outside. He found the portal that allowed him a view of the blue cross on the west side of the river.
Then, out of the corner of his eye, he saw the Dinosaur Barbecue off to his left.
He began to panic, turned and took a few steps to another portal.
When he looked through it – straight down – he saw the words, “FREE, FREE, FREE, FREE”
“That’s what I want, to be free of this fear.” He continued walking and passed tall stacks on his right.
At 14, he turned right and immediately looked down by his right foot.
He turned slightly to see better. There, next to the floor were pictures of his family (Alas, as of September 2007, all the Dino books have been replaced by books about the earth's climate. The Dino, however is hiding in the same place.)
“At last!” he exclaimed.
(Alas, as of September 2007, all the Dino photographs have been replaced with information about the earth's climate. The Dashing Dino, however has not left the area).
With that, our Dashing Dino lowered himself to the floor and crawled into the small corner on his right.
He curled “up” and fell asleep.
That is where you will find him today.

Bring your own ink pad and pen.
