4/11 update: Maintenance was done to the box and new logbook added.
2/08 My dad has moved back to Florida so I don't anticipate ever getting back to Perry. I would appreciate any help to upkeep this box! Thanks!!
This box was placed in honor of my father's 75th birthday. He is an avid golfer and recently moved to one of the golfing communities in town.
Pondering Ted is the first letterbox in Houston County! Please take your own stamp pad.
This box is located at Rozar Memorial Park in Perry. Take the Perry Parkway to Kings Chapel Road. Turn into the Perry Recreation Department located at 1060 Keith Road. As you drive in to the parking lot notice a footbridge on your right.
Cross the bridge. Face the new improved trail but do not follow it. Notice how the trail splits up hill to the right shortly after the bridge. Follow that path. If you pass a lion fountain you've gone the wrong way and should go back to the bridge. (There was a bird house tacked to a tree on the right on the up hill trail). Shortly you will see a large cut log on either side of the trail. From that point count 16 steps. Stop and notice to the right a multi-trunked tree. Dig into the trunk to find the treasure you came to find.
Please be sure the contents of box are replaced, box snapped and replaced in its hiding spot. Cover well please! Thanks!
