This is part of my State Symbols series
Directions to Mercer Arboretum & Botanical Gardens:
From FM 1960, turn north on Aldine Westfield Road.
Continue until a stoplight, the visitors center will
be on your right. You need to turn left into the east side for this letterbox.
Clues:
On the east side of the Arboretum, take your first right.
Park at the far end of the parking lot by the Cypress Pavillion. The trail entrance is straight ahead, by the restrooms. Take this trail until you come to the trailhead map. There will be a fork in the trail. Go left on the Arboretum Tree Display Trail until you come to another fork. Go right. You will cross a wooden bridge. Then you will come to yet another fork. Turn right and sit on the bench, facing the path. The microbox is at the back of the tree on your right, between 2 roots cover with pine needles and leaves. Re-hide well!
