As of April, 2020, this box is still in place and being found. But it was wet and the stamp was broken, so we have carved a new and different stamp and put in a new tiny logbook. It will be back in place in the original spot. (Obviously, it is a good spot since it's been there 14 years!)

Community Park West is a park in Glenview. It is located at 1001 Zenith Avenue. Soccer and baseball fields, a walking trail, and a large playground for children are some of the features of this park. This letterbox adventure is an easy one and can be enjoyed by young and old. It is also wheelchair accessible, though someone in a wheelchair could not actually reach the box. The park is located off Milwaukee Road north of Glenview Road and south of Abt Electronics. Access to the park is at 1000 Milwaukee Road. Your dog is welcome, but they need to be on a leash no longer than eight feet.

Park your car somewhere near the playground. If you have children, this is a great place to while away some time. There is even a climbing rock. After enjoying the kiddy park, walk along the sidewalk in a northeasterly direction. You will pass the shelter and a pond will be on your right. See all the cattails? Whether it’s summer, fall, winter, or spring you should see these tall North American plants. They have been considered native species since 1836. Plants and animals alike use these plants in various ways. In the spring the head can be eaten; so can the lower leaves. Native Americans used cattail leaves for weaving and the fluff as the first disposable baby diapers. They were sometimes used as torches. Of course, they have also been used as ornamentals. Some birds nest in among the plants, so be careful if it’s nesting time for the red winged blackbirds. These birds can be territorial.

You’ll also see a bright green fence on your right. It’s hard to miss. Walk along past all of this, but don’t forget to look for other signs of nature, depending on the season.

The park is used for soccer games, so depending on the season, there may be lots of sports enthusiasts nearby. If you arrive at an asphalt circle, you’re on the right path. You are looking for 4 stone pillars. When you find those, STOP! There is one caution: if you weigh over 8000 pounds, you must not go further!

If you are under the weight limit, continue your search. You are looking for 2001295.

You'll see four corners all of concrete and stone.
Look closely by one.
You'll find a brick all alone.
Under it, if you look just right,
you'll find the treasure out of sight.

Be discreet as you log this one. There may be many people enjoying the park or playing games. Carefully replace the LB exactly where you found it.
