This box is dedicated to the Tonkawa Native Americans who used to live in this part of Texas long ago. The word Waxahachie is believed to be the Tonkawa word for Buffalo Creek, and a wickiup is a temporary dwelling of nomadic Native Americans consisting of arched poles covered by brush, bark, rushes or mats. This microbox wickiup is not temporary and can be found at Waxahachie Creek Park on the western shore of Bardwell Lake near the mouth of Waxahachie Creek. It offers camping, boating and hiking, along with several other letterboxes.

Directions:
From I45 at Ennis, exit onto US 287 Bypass (Exit #247). Travel 4.5 miles and exit at Bardwell Lake sign. Turn left onto Hwy 34 and travel 3.0 miles southwest to Bozek Road. Turn right and travel 1.5 miles to Waxahachie Creek Park entrance complex. Turn left after entering park and drive to the boat ramp. Park in the far side of the lot to the left of the ramp near the Equestrian Trail head.

Clues:
Take the left path and walk uphill for about 50 steps to a trail intersection. Go left again and walk uphill for about 40 steps. Look left for a large, multi-trunk cedar tree about 5 steps off the trail. The camo microbox is within the trunks under dead needles and some rocks. Watch for stickers and please re-cover well.
