Nockamixon State Park - Old Mill Trail
This trail can get prety muddy after a good rain.

Once upon a time, in a forest far, far away . . . William the Wicked Wizard cast an evil spell over the castle and the royal woods. Help the royal family by finding the magic wand to undo the curse.

You'll find it by hiking the Old Mill Trail. Follow the trail until you come a "V". Go to the right. Go under the castle archway and continue forward. Soon you will see a knight on horseback. Follow his lead. The wizard will try to block your way, but you can climb over anything he throws at you.

Follow the staircase down through the castle. A rocky river will appear ahead of you - keeping it to your right, follow it. Watch for a tower with window about 10 to 12 feet up. It should be on the right. If it is, you know you are going the right way. See how the castle is in such disrepair. You can see some scattered blocks and such to your left.

Up a bit of a hill, the path splits. Stay to the right. Down, down, down . . . to the dungeon. Cross over a log. Follow the knight down the trail. See the path on the other side of the great river? You're gonna have to cross it! If luck is on you side, the water will be low so that you can hop right across to the path on the other side. If the wizard has been watching, the water will be high and you might have to go a little further down stream to find a place to cross. Once you have made you're way to the other side. Walk along the path with the wall to your left. As the wall ends, follow the path around to the left. Go past the two-headed green monster and look to your right. A fallen tree hides the wand (check the stump). Stay on top of the 'alligator's heads' or risk sinking into the quagmire. Good Luck . . .
