~As many of you know, each year my Mom and big sister put out a new box on my birthday-just in my honor. Well. I had another birthday, I'm three now, and they did it again. The stamp this time is of my brand new way of going letterboxing, of course only when Dad goes too 8-) I just love this method of transportation and I am VERY good at it. To find out what it is you will need to find my newest box.

Directions:
From the intersection of routes 32 & 207, head down route 207 towards Baltic. Keep an eye on the left side of the road for a sign for Bailey's Ravine/Ayers Gap. There is a good sized paved pull off here to park.

Clues:
Head straight up the white trail. ***CAUTION*** The beginning of this trail can be VERY slippery when leaves or snow/ice are on the ground. Please use your best judgement.
As you are going up, probaly panting a bit, take a few moments to look around. There are some beautiful vistas up here any time of year.
When you get to a spot where the trail turns RIGHT-STOP!! There are no trail marks denoting the right hand turn, but it does clearly turn. You will NOT be at the top of the hill at this point.
Look to your left and you will see a large, dead, mossy tree on the ground. Walk twenty (20) steps to this tree and stop. You should be at the root end. Look straight ahead from this spot and you should see a U-shaped dead tree. Look in the hollow on the backside for the baby's newest box.
From the spot where this box was originally placed (a social trail has developed here and the contents were found strewn on the ground, but the log book was never found 8-() take a reading of 30° and walk ~ 20 steps uphill to a Hemlock. Look underneath the big, flat rock behind it.
Please re-cover well with the rocks!!!
From here you have a choice to make. You can either return the way you came for a short hike OR you can continue on the white blazed trail for a wonderful hike. It is mostly level from here until you reach the end and are going down the trail by a wonderful waterfall.
If you choose to take the longer route, when you reach the road you will need to turn right. When you reach the stop sign, turn right again and you will very quickly be back at the parking area.
We hope you enjoyed this hunt.

Flutterby & Old Skool Vanz~

P.S. There are a lot more boxes up here to find that would make the longer walk very well worth the effort ;-)
