Throughout the summer, I ride my bike past here daily and always like to stop to feed the ducks along the way. You may want to bring some bread if you plan on staying awhile. Be aware, however, that these ducks are not afraid to come up and crowd around you to ensure that they get in on the feeding action. If you are with small children, or are not so keen to ducks, I wouldn't feed them. They can be scary (and quite vocal) at times!

Parking:
Park in the Macy's lot at Valley River Center. Park near the SW end of the lot where you can see the Greenway Bike Bridge.

To the box:
Cross the bridge and follow the path to the left. Don't take any side paths--be sure to stay on the main, wide path that always curves to the left.

Pass the playground on your left. About a quarter of a mile after the playground, there will be a large clearing on the left with access to the river. Throughout most of the year, there are MANY ducks here begging to be fed.

Continue on the path until you reach the next gravel path on your left, with an adjoining stone wall dedicated to Maury Jacobs. (Actually, this entire park is dedicated to him.)

Follow this path down to the ampitheater and look for a big log on the right. The letterbox is hidden in a crook of the log on the end farthest away from the water.
