Paul & Lloyd Waner are 2 of the 6 baseball players in the Baseball Hall of Fame which were from Oklahoma. They both graduated from school in Harrah.
There was a box for both brothers but now Paul is missing. Lloyd however has been found.
These boxes are hidden in “Waner Brothers Park.” It is a baseball/softball complex kept by the Athletic Association of Harrah. The park is halfway between NE 10th & NE 23rd
street on Peebly Road. Leave Harrah going North on 23rd street and you’ll turn left on Peebly Road. If you come to the Choctaw Propane company you’ve passed Peebly.
You’ll drive in under the “Waner Bros Park”sign. Walk North along the western edge of a baseball field. Cross the field and walk to a back stop long since used.
Stand and prepare to bat at home plate.
Pitch 1!
You pop a foul ball down the 3rd base line to an old, fat, cedar tree (about 50 paces away). Go get your ball. This isn’t the big leagues and you have to chase your own.
Here you’ll find Lloyd hanging in the evergreen on the North side.
The link below will give you some more information about the play of “Big Poison” and “Little Poison” if you care to read up.
