Terrain: Easy road side stop. Enjoy the flowers! Some short inclines.
Best Times to Visit: Just before sunset on a clear day; and/or when your favorite flowers bloom (about 30 minutes with the drive from Tpk).

Seamon Park is a very small but spectacular park! Parts of this may seem like someone's yard but this has been a public park for more then 50 years. Permission was given to plant the boxes. It is open to all until 9 p.m. Sorry, no dogs in the park (however the walk is not longer then 15 minutes not stopping to “smell the roses”). If your dog needs walking ask directions to Cantine Field (see below).

Directions to the Park:

From the New York State Thruway (easiest approach):

Get off of exit 20 Saugerties. Driving east on Rte. 212; it is busy here with lights; go straight. Follow signs to Saugerties. Then go over the railroad tracks and continue going straight for 2 lights about 1/2 mile. At the second light after the tracks, you will need to choose right or left. Going left it is the easiest way. This is Market St. Make the second right onto Finger St. staying on this road until the end (you will need to cross Washington Ave. As Finger St continues on the other side for another 1/2 mile). At the end is Malden Ave and Seamon Park. There is a sign directing you where to park. Park there.

From Taconic State Parkway:

Get off the Red Hook exit taking 199. Go through Red hook and follow the signs to the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge. Take the first right after getting off the bridge. This is Rte 32. Take a right heading into Saugerties. 32 north is a winding country road, stay on it for about 5 mins. This road meets up with Rte. 9W at a light. Bear right on 9W. Go straight through one light passed the "Welcome to Saugerties" sign. You will take 4 sharp turns and up a steep hill to a light. Go right at the light following the signs for 9W. There will be a sharp turn left. On the right just before a small bridge is the turn into Seamon Park. Park there.

To Cantine Field (for you and your dog)

Turn left out of the parking lot onto Malden Ave. Take the first right onto Finger St. Turn right onto Washington Ave. Continue down this road about a 1/2 mile; the fields are on the left.

The clues:

Begin at the Grist Mill Wheel.
Head west on a road that lies between 2 big trees.
Walk pass several white birches, then between a stone wall and a barn.
The road curves right then left around an oak tree.
Walk south from here toward a boulder on the grass; the plaque reads "The BlueKats"
Turn southwest from the boulder and you will see two large pine trees and 3 red cedars.
Walk pass these to the right and down the slope heading toward a bench marked April 1951
There is a pebbled path on the left for you to take which brings you to the entrance...

The best place to start is by the girl and fella
So, stroll around this area and let your compass be an umbrella.
After finding what this means, count the stones to 63.
These are evenly spaced...but one is missing from its' place
Face north from here and step out 30.

Turn right at the tree up the pebble path and around the giant spruce
Walk up and on the grass to a fountain with a youth.
The middle lamp guides you up another level
Look right to see a spectacular view!
Find the last and move to the right down a level
Look around for "Amy and Travis".

Walk south along the bluestone path with arches.
Go up three sets of steps.
Look to the west for a dragon's back
Two paces south lies a slanted slab.
A new stamp #1 lies within!
(Nearby is "Festival d'ail")

Walk back to the last lamp looking to the northeast.
Go to the far end of the pavilion.
Walk down the hill to a giant slide. Let the children play!
Continue walking north a bit to a cobble stone circle
With your back to 1934; an arrow points to an old fence post about 21 steps away.
Here be the "1934 LB" (Stamp #2)Please hide well with rock and debris.

KUDOS To Gingaroo for helping with the camo bag in box #1

Have a picnic and a nice day!

#2 is missing
