Gooble! Gooble!

Heritage Park in Johnson County Kansas sits between Pflum and Blackbob south of 159th Street. You can see a map of the park at http://jcprd.com/parks_facilities/map_heritage_park.cfm

Go to Shelter 9 and park. You best just keep on going if there are people there since they will see you and find the letterbox. Only stop if there is no one around, especially in the winter when the trees have lost their leaves.

Take the paved path down towards the pond.

Take the left fork of the path.

Before you get to the next fork in the path (not too far) you need to walk off the path into the trees on your left and look for a camo colored round plastic container on the ground behind a small clump of thorny trees. This is a geocache. The letterbox is inside this container in a zip lock baggie.

You can sign the geocache log too and report your find on www.geocaching.com, but you will have to be a premium member to see this one.

There is a small band of three turkeys that lives in this area and eats the acorns from the nearby trees. If you are around in the evening as the sun is going down you might see them scratching around or down by the pond getting a drink before the fly up in the trees to roost. The stamp is my best effort to carve them. I do better turkey carving on Thanksgiving.
