It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown was originally released on October 27, 1966 on CBS and was nominated for two Emmys in 1967. In this cartoon, the only person who doesn't go trick-or-treating is Linus, who, hoping to prove that the Great Pumpkin really does exist, sits alone in a pumpkin patch all night anxiously awaiting the mythical mega-gourd's arrival. Linus believes the Great Pumpkin will rise up from a pumpkin patch that is the most sincere and will deliver presents to all the good little boys and girls. Linus stays up all night in hopes of catching a glimpse of the Great Pumpkin. Linus's singular faith in the Great Pumpkin is at the heart of the show and is both touching and meaningful, reminding us that no matter the occasion, there are stronger feelings in this world than the want for candy.

Clues:

Directions: From Hwy 290, go north on Telge Rd. In about 3/4 mile you will cross Cypress Creek. The park will be on your right, so turn right on Pleasant Grove, then a quick right into parking area.

From the parking lot, look for the Historical Marker sign. Walk to the right of it and follow the wire fence towards the creek ( Telge will be on your right). When you reach the creek, walk between the wooden posts, and up the ramp to the foot path that crosses the bridge, making your way across the creek. Once you get to the other side, drop down and right across the clearing and look for the "No Motor Vehicles" sign. Walk to the edge of the forest, and go through the wooden posts. From here, count 63 steps as you follow the trail (it will veer towards the left). You should be next to a hill on your right, with a swamp behind it, and to your right should be the creek with a pile of wood, along the bank. ( You should be near Baby Bear's Grim Reaper letter box). From here, count 100 more steps until you reach an incline in the trail. Take 15 more steps and to your left, you should see a tall, double trunked pine tree. While waiting for The Great Pumpkin, Linus is eagerly waiting for your visit! The letterbox is behind these trees at the base, covered in pine needles and leaves.
