Zoo Box Series - Box #1
WHAT ANIMAL WILL YOU FIND?

This is the first letterbox in a series of Zoo Boxes honoring the Louisville Zoo and its wonderful exhibits. Most of the boxes will be located in Joe Creason Park, across the street (more or less) from the Louisville Zoo.

To get to the box, take Newburg Road to Trevilian Way, and head west toward the zoo. At the top of the hill on your right, you will see an entrance for Joe Creason Park. Turn into the park and drive to a T. Turn right at the T and park on the left side of the road (no parking on the right) before you get to the left turn that goes to the administration parking lot. Walk along the left side of the roadway until you get to the road that goes to the administration parking lot. On your left, you will see a four-trunked tree.

Standing on the west side of the tree, take a reading of 290 degrees, and start walking. Duck under the low bridge, and watch out for kids climbing on top! Keep walking until you get to a large evergreen. Turn to your left, and walk through the gazebo, and pass the playground on your right. Stop at the playground bench and sit a spell. Get up and face the playground, then turn right and walk around the cherry tree until you are standing in front of a large twisty tree with a hole in its trunk.

Stand at the west side of Mr. Twisty Tree and walk westward six paces until you see a large octopus evergreen. Search at the eastern base of the octopus tree, under some twigs for your prize!

As always, please be extremely careful when poking around, looking for a letterbox.
