10/2006 - Box has been pulled AGAIN after being vandalized AGAIN... we will remove this message after we find a new spot for this little kitty!

-- This box resides in Menomonee Park. There is a daily fee to enter Waukesha County Parks or you can purchase an annual pass for access to all county parks. --

One October day, Wimpy the scaredy cat went to the Haunted Harvest Gathering with his friends, the CignaCats. While chatting with some letterboxers, he lost track of the CignaCats, who had gone out to find some boxes. Being the big scaredy cat he is, Wimpy did not like being without his friends, so he went off to find them.

Starting at the beach house, Wimpy decided to head over to the trail to the west. Once at the trail, he turned right, following along the beach. Staying on this path, Wimpy continued until he reached an intersection with a path to the right and a bridge to the left. Although scaredy cats are afraid of water, he remembered that his friends like bridges, so he headed to the left and crossed the bridge. Once across, Wimpy had another choice to make. He saw a road to the left but was afraid of the street, so he decided to get as far away from it as he could and turned right. What Wimpy didn’t realize was he had entered the worst place a scaredy cat could possibly be.

After having made so many decisions, Wimpy was afraid to make any more, so he stayed on this path as long as possible. He walked for some time, turning as the trail winded left, then right, then left again. He passed an out-of-place evergreen tree where he sharpened his claws. Still not having found his friends, Wimpy continued ahead. Shortly afterward, he came upon some rocks in the path with some fallen trees on the left. A little further down, Wimpy saw a large fallen tree on his right side. At that moment, he heard the most frightening thing imaginable for a scaredy cat… barking came from something ahead of him around the curve.

In fear, Wimpy turned around taking 10 steps back, where he noticed a trail off to his left. He could hear the sound of paws closing in, so Wimpy went down the trail and noticed a grouping of rocks by the exposed roots of the fallen tree. This is a perfect place to hide, thought Wimpy. So he climbed behind some rocks to wait it out. Unfortunately for Wimpy, every time he tried to leave he heard more and more dogs, so Wimpy hopes if you find him that you will be sure to rehide him really well and let his friends know that he is okay.
