**********THIS SERIES HAS NOW BEEN PULLED**********
Thanks for all of the wonderful comments in the log books. They are a lot of fun to read.

~Are you superstitious??
Do you mind going in graveyards at night?
How about in the month of October when Halloween is near?

This is a limited time only series. It will only be out for the month of October. On November 1st this series will be retired.

These are a series of drive by boxes in diferent cemeteries in Lebanon. There are NO INK PADS in any of the boxes. I would advise you to bring markers.

You can start with any of the boxes (especially if you know where these locations are already), but I would strongly suggest that you do #7 LAST!!!!!!

From Route 2 West:
Take exit 22. Go right at the end of the exit on Scott Hill Road and you will quickly come to a four way intersection. Go straight and you will be on Waterman Road. Follow this until you see a large cemetery on the right side of the road.

#1-Broken Mirrors

An ancient myth our ancestors believed was that the image in a mirror is our actual soul. A broken mirror represented the soul being astray from your body. To break the spell of misfortune, you must wait seven hours (one for each year of bad luck) before picking up the broken pieces, and bury them outside in the moonlight.

To find your mirror, go in the first entrance that you come to and turn right. Follow this road to the back of the cemetery and stop. Go to the corner of the stone wall there. Head back up the wall towards the road for 19 steps. Stop. Look to your left. There you will see a three sister tree, one of which has died. Look in the dead cavity for the first box.

Get back in your car and head back the way you came on Waterman Road. Continue until you see Fowler Road on your right. Take this right and it will turn into Church Road. Near the end, by the stop sign there will be a cemetery on your right. Pull over here.

#2-Black Cats

Black cats have long been believed to be a supernatural omen since the witch hunts of the middle ages when cats were thought to be connected to evil. Since then, it is considered bad luck if a black cat crosses your path.

To find your feline, go through the more southerly entrance and turn right. At the corner turn left and follow this wall until you come to the first tree that is inside of the stone wall. Look behind this tree.

Continue to the stop sign and turn right on McCall Road. At the next stop sign turn left onto Goshen Hill Road. Follow this to the stop sign and turn right onto Route 16. Go to the next stop sign and turm right onto Route 207. Almost immediately you will see a cemetery on the right. Pull over here.

#3-Salt

At one time salt was a rare commodity and thought to have magical powers. It was unfortunate to spill salt and said to foretell family disarray and death. To ward off bad luck, throw a pinch over your shoulder and all will be well.

To find your own pinch of salt, locate the white building that is on the left hand side of the cemetery. Go behind it and put your back to it. Proceed along the wall for 13 steps and you should be next to a five sister tree. Tucked behind the wall, under a rock is where you will find your prize.

Continue on Route 207 in the direction that you were going until you come to another "HIDDEN" cemetery on the left. It is just after the bridge that is over Pease Brook. Pull in here.

#4-Sparrows

Sparrows are thought to carry the souls of the dead and it is believed to bring bad luck if you kill one.

To find your feathered friend, go through the gate and continue going straight until you reach the back wall. Then turn left and go to the corner. Turn left again and go to another corner. This time turn right and look under the beautiful end cap.

Continue again on Route 207 in the same direction. Come to a stop sign and turn left on Route 87 and go across the town green. At the next stop sign turn left to stay on route 87.
Continue down this road until you see another cemetery on your right just after Uncle D's Log Cabin.

#5-Unlucky Number #13

The fear of the number 13 is still common today, and avoided in many different ways. Some buildings still do not have an official 13th floor and many people avoid driving or going anywhere on Friday the 13th.

To find this scary number, go through the gate and turn left. Walk along the wall to the corner and there you will find the box.

Go back to your car and head back down Route 87 in the direction that you just came from. At the stop sign turn right to stay on Route 87. At the next stop sign turn left on to Route 207. Follow this until you see a cemetery on the left. Pull over here.

#6-Owls

If an owl looks in your window or if you see one in the daylight bad luck and death will bestow you.

To find this box will be a real hoot 8O) Go over the steps and proceed along the wall that is on your right. When you reach the memorial plaque for Faith Robinson Trumbull, Stop.
Look in the wall behind the tree.

Go back to your car and head back up Route 207 to the intersection and this time turn left on Route 87. Folow it until you see Waterman Road on your right and turn here. Go down this road and shortly after you go around a 90 degree turn you will see a cemetery on your left.

#7-Ladders

In the days before the gallows, criminals were hung from the top rung of a ladder and their spirits were believed to linger underneath. Common folklore has it to be bad luck to walk beneath an open ladder and pass through the triangle of evil ghosts and spirits.

Go in the first entrance and turn left. Follow the hedges until they meet a stone wall. From this corner turn right and walk 5 steps. Behind the white-ish rock you will find your ladder.

Leave the cemetery, turn left and follow this road to the four way intersection. You should see signs for Route 2 straight across at this intersection.

PLEASE TREAT ALL OF THESE CEMETERIES WITH THE UTMOST RESPECT. LOVED ONES ARE BURIED HERE AND YOU MAY ENCOUNTER PEOPLE VISITING GRAVES. PLEASE BE DISCRETE AND RESPECTFUL.

We hope you have a great time looking for these boxes.

Happy Halloween!!
