From North of Fitzwilliam, travel on Rte.12 South.From Rte.12, north of town, you will see a sign directing you to the village of Fitzwilliam. Take that right onto Lower Troy Rd. (There is a garage on the corner).At the stop sign, you will be facing the Fitzwilliam Inn. Turn right onto Old Richmond Rd. Follow that road to the end. There will be the town cemetery on your left. Turn left onto Rhododendron Rd. Take your second right (it will come quickly).You have now entered the Emerson School parking lot. Go to the rear of the parking lot, towards the ball field. At the rear of the pavement, facing the woods, you will see a brown sign on a tree. The sign says "CLaire Drake Nature Trail". Take that trail into the woods. The trail slopes downward. On your left you will see the ball field and the chain link fence. As you go further, the fence will turn to go around the field. You are now closer to the letterbox. When the fence turns, start to look on your left, but keep walking. You will come to a fallen birch log with lots of white bark missing.The birch log is broken into 2 sections. Walk to the end of the first section. Turn around, face right and look for a large maple tree. You are now facing north. North of the large maple you will see a group of boulders. Look for one that is jagged. Face the jagged rock. Turn left. The letterbox is under that rock.
