The Red Dragon’s Lair
This letterbox is located at Wilcott-Mill Metro Park off of 29 mile and Kunstman Rd near Romeo Plank Rd. The park closes at 5pm. The letterbox begins at the Settler’s Trail on the west side of the parking lot. This box is also a geocash (if you take something you must leave something behind). All boxes must be found in order because the boxes contain clues (not written in the directions) that lead to the final geocash box.

********Remember Dragons like shinny objects that glitter like gold or silver********
(They don’t take kindly to plastic McDonalds toys)

P.S Please rehide well!! Remember the Gloden Rule!! Please replace any rocks or debris covering the letterboxes!! Thank you!
Clues

The flaming red-orange posts ignite the path before you, a stark reminder of whose territory you have entered. The Red Dragon owns this land; enter at your own risk! But you have not come here seeking valor or glory by slaying the dragon, no, you are a thief. You have come to steal the dragon’s treasure. After all what does bravery get you but a tombstone, and a song drunk patrons sing of you in taverns.

You quickly duck down the first path on your left heading into the dark woods. Sneaking past the dragon’s slave encampment on your left, you travel upwards toward a small clearing. Not wasting any time, for you are already running a bit late, you plunge back into the woods strait ahead. There you see the being you are to meet tonight. His knowledge runs deep into the earth, and his intellect stretches to the sky above. He is known as the Old One. He, you know, will be the only one who can help you enter the dragon’s lair undetected. The Old One knows why you have come, and proceeds to tell you of the Well of Knowledge. Here, he says, is where you will get the enchantment to enter. He hands you a map from beneath a log telling you where the well is hidden, and also tells you it was once guarded by one of his brethren. Now all that remains of him is a dried up husk of what he once was; poisoned by dragon venom. "And I have just recently learned that he now slumbers upon that hill as well," said the Old One as he pointed to your map. As the Old One bids you farewell, you turn toward the path again.

On the right of the path you are met by a five headed twisted snake. Knowing that these woods will be teaming with the dragon’s minions you carefully avoid this trap and continue on your way. Yet another clearing awaits you ahead. Leaving the pine trees behind, you dash across the open field back into the safety of the woods.

Emerging from out of the woods, you suddenly hear a buzzing crackling sound above your head. Fearing the noise might be the dragon out hunting, you dash down the dirt path. A few twists and turns down the road and before you know it you come across a small soldier scouting party on your left. Careful not to draw attention you sneak past and take cover in the wood once again.

Upon entering the woods you take the high path to your left and follow it up the hill. There on your right you see him, one of the Old Ones, now you know you are getting close. Pulling out the map you search for the well. "X" marks the spot.

After obtaining the enchantment, you set off up the path again. Emerging from the woods once again, you pass through the logged fortress and follow the path that skirts the woods to your right. You follow this path back into the woods as it meanders to the left until it ends at a meadow trail. Here you turn right and follow it until you see a fork in the path and take the right one. Reentering the woods you take a small trail on the right and go deeper into the woods. Soon you can see the dragon’s fortress near the left edge of the trail, it’s six towers looming far above your head. The ground is littered with bones, human and animal alike. Looking up at the largest spire you see a large hole. This must be the dragon's entrance. All dragons usually have a back door in their lairs. Taking care not to tumble off the edge you look around the back of the large spire and find a hidden door!! Before entering you pull out your enchantment and speak the words. You are in, you did it, the treasure is yours for the taking!!

Please, please take care replacing the box well! How well you replace the box is vital to its survival due to its size!!!!!!!!! It has already been ravaged once!!!!!!!!!!! This box is my "baby" if you could be so kind as to email me on how it is doing I would love you for it!! Happy hunting!
