December 19, 2008 - Currently the boxes that were listed as "abandoned" under WD'A have been placed under me. Capperpillar and I have pulled some of the abandoned boxes (that were still alive) and are hoping that WD'A will come to the Gathering in January so we can help her update and re-plant her boxes. Until that time we cannot guarantee that any of her boxes are currently alive and/or what condition they are in. More details to come.

TEMPORARY MAINTAINANCE- BOX HAS SURVIVED BUT THE TREE DIED WILL POST NEW CLUES SOON WITH A BONUS STANP FOR THE TROUBLE.
Based on you knowledge of this area, this can be a driveby but instructions are for a longer walk <1 mile on level ground.
Here is a toast to FRIENDS those kindred spirits who gather for a variety of reasons, This particular friend and I have worked together, watched our children compete in sports together and lunched together and sometimes just hung out together. The little park near the Garden City Library is a peaceful quiet picnic spot. Enjoy a lunch and short hike together.

Directions: From I-84 take Exit 46. Turn North onto Eagle Road. Turn right onto Chinden Blvd. Turn left onto Glenwood. Turn Left on Marigold. Turn into the City Hall parking lot and park on the Northeast side of the building.

Head North to the paved path and at the JUST HANGING OUT in sign head west amd read the interpertive signs along the way. Follow the board walk to the River Point Park and head north. Enter the trail system at SW 5.7 and go West until you come to the end of the rought Iron fence on your left.

Clues: Go north to the memorial bench, with your back to the Rose Lynch marker, site your compass to 164 degrees. (roughly East and just a little south 26 steps (13 paces). Follow the social trail to the right 9 steps you will come to a branch which you will need to step over (3inches in diamiter about Knee high) South of the tree that an orangish bird house is nailed to you will find FRIENDS under a cement castoff and river rock. please kick a few leaves and sticks back over the rocks when you have replaced the box hidden from sight.
This box was placed when the trees were fully leafed out so you may need to use a little more stelth when hunting in the winter. While there is poison ivy in the area there was none near the box. happy hunting.
