Local legend has it that this dark ‘Hill’ in Bernardo, NM is an old dormant volcano. We thought it a fitting place for an old Dragon to rest his weary bones.

Heading south from Albuquerque, NM on I25, past Los Lunas and Belen is Exit 175 at Bernardo.

Take the exit and head east on Hwy 60. After mile marker 170, you will crest a hill then see a dark mountain to the south.

Take the dirt road south after mile marker 174. Go 1 mile down dirt road. You will then be alongside the mountain. Take a right on the road heading towards the mountain and stay left at the fork.

Leave your vehicle at the foot of the mountain and ascend on foot. Follow the most likely route for a vehicle, a path of white washed stones. When the path ends near the top, head to the peak on the left (south). Look over the edge to check on your vehicle and continue to the southeastern-most corner. Just in front of the sagebrush at your feet rests the Dragon. Wake him from his slumber and he will leave a lasting ‘impression’ with you.
