This waterfall site is maintained by the Michigan DNR. The trail and boardwalk take about 10 minutes roundtrip, and the falls are truly beautiful -- one of my favorites in the area. You'll notice as you walk the trail that the area gets WAY too much off trail use. Erosion is a real problem in the area of the falls, especially.

So .... we decided to place this box away from the falls. Near the parking lot you'll notice a boulder in which the DNR has placed a marker. Standing behind the marker, begin pacing (2 steps per pace) along the trail that goes into the woods. Fourteen paces along the trail will bring you to a place where there is a large cedar to your right. Find the box at the base of this tree, beneath woody debris and leaves.
