THIS BOX IS RETIRED. THERE ARE PLANS TO REPLACE IN THE FUTURE.

ATTENTION: There has been a lot of blow down at the stop where this box is located. Even I tried to find the box but couldn't (July 4, 2007). On June 26, of this year it was reported as being there. I you decide to try hunting for it please let me know if and where you did find it. It was raining and very wet when I went to search Wednesday so may have given up prematurely. Thanks Mama B and the Lacustrian

Located on Uncas Road. It is best to check the link posted here for good precise directions to this location. www.nybirds.org/Articles/ferds_bog.htm

October 14, 2006 This box has been replaced with a new stamp in a new location. It is closer to the trail head but I hope that you will take the time to go visit the bog. There is a nice board walk that goes out into the middle of the bog. It is a short hike - 1/2 mile round trip.

CLUES: Once you have located Ferd's Bog, park in the little sandy pull off and sign the registration book. The trail starts off with a slight up hill climb. You will notice a large blow down that has been cut up into short "fat" logs and placed off to the left of the trail. Follow the fallen tree, which is also on the left, until you reach the end, which is pointing into the woods. With your back to tree end look left ( West ) and you will see an old partially dead yellow birch tree. Behind the tree is the letter box covered very well with leaves and bark.
