After you visit the falls, return to the sidewalk between the exhibit building and the parking lot. You'll notice the Lakeshore Trail (North Country Trail) takes off from there, down some stairs behind the building. Follow that trail to the bridge and enjoy the view of Munising Creek. From the far end of the bridge, begin pacing 34 paces (2 steps per pace)further along the trail. At 32 paces you'll see (in the snowfree season, anyway!) an old fence on the downhill side of the trail. At 34 paces the fence ends. Move off the trail here toward a LARGE clump of cedars (about 11 huge trees reaching together toward the sky!). The branches are low, but slide under their cover on the downhill side of the tree and you'll find the box up against the tree, under some bark and twigs and leaves.
This is a very busy area, so try to be discreet! (The first box I put here disappeared.)
