The Timber Lake Trail is .8 mile long, and the trailhead is located on the left, about .7 mile up the Red Lake Trail from Olallie Lake in the Olallie Lake Scenic Area.

This hike is fairly flat, little elevation gain. Lots of huckleberries in August.

Originally I was going to plant 1 box on the Timber Lake trail, because it is so short. I had a box ready to go, to plant at the lake. But on the way there, I found another neat place, so hiked back to my yurt and carved a box just for the new spot.

Box #1. Head up the Timber Lake Trail. When you pass beneath the end of the rainbow, look to the other end for your box-o-gold. 4' to the left, under rocks, at the base of a young hemlock is your prize.

Box #2. When you can just see the lake, look for the Timber Lake sign. Look to the other side of the trail a twisted tree leaning away from a straight one. A pile of rocks behind them hides the second box.
