This is in remembrance of a stuffed animal left in Texas in 1987. It was big, bulky, dirty and had a “broken neck”….and you can forever “mark” your child by leaving behind a beloved toy.

Greenwood, South Carolina is an interesting town. It is home to Lander University, Piedmont Technical College, Park Seed and numerous businesses.

If you take a trip out highway 72 towards Lake Greenwood, you pass a couple of interesting sites too. You will pass the Greenwood Civic Center and behind that is our city Farmer’s Market where you can get fresh fruits and vegetables when locally in season. But I digress……………..proceed on past the Civic Center.

“Next door” to the Civic Center is the Greenwood Veterinary Hospital. Many animals have passed through the portals of that hospital, and many children have too…worried about their beloved pets. Much like the live versions of Snoopy! Through those same portals have also passed at least 1 veterinary medicine student who was destined to fulfill her dream to care for all those sick and deserted animals.

But, I digress again. Before you ever get to the door, you must come through the circular drive. At the end, there is a huge, old magnolia tree. When it is in bloom it is magnificent. There are many crotches to this old tree….a crotch is where 2 or more limbs come together. Tucked neatly in one of these crotches is the “box”.

As always, since this is private property, please be careful and respectful. The proprietors are aware of the box and its location so you should not interfere with their business. Return to box to its place, and please let me know the condition of the box at: zoemomma1@yahoo.com
