Founded in 1879, Italy got it's name because its climate was much like that found in "sunny Italy". As with many small towns, you get a sense of their history by viewing their cemetary. You'll notice quite a few children's gravestones here.

**NOTE** If you want a special "Texas Passport" stamp as a souviner for your journeys around the state, you can e-mail me off-line.

Directions to the box:
The box is planted in the Italy cemetary, located just beyond the intersection of N. Couch & Dallas. From I-35, take the Italy exit into town, and follow the main road. You will see signs directing you to the cemetary. Turn right immediately before the sign, or you will miss the road. Once you get to the cemetary, enter at Section 4. Follow the signs for Section 6. Turn right at the T-intersection. Section 5 will be on your left. Park at the area where there are 4 metal fenceposts with no fence. Walk to the last headstone on this row. Face right. Walk toward "Mary Elizabeth's" handmade headstone. Continue in this direction, walking in between the 2 headstones that look like tree trunks. From here, you will see 3 real trees ahead. Go to the middle tree, located in the Campbell plot. At the base of this tree you will find the box.

As with any box located in a cemetary, please show appropriate respect for the surroundings.
