This is the second in Tyler's letterbox series. He is just starting to talk so B'ar whose name is Boof, is a gentle black bear.

Located near Seventh Lake(a part of the Fulton Chain of Lakes in the Adirondack Mountains) are a magnificent stand of mammoth white pines that should be seen by everyone before they are no longer there.

Inscribed on the monument is :

This tree created by God
And old when our country was born
Fine and clean and straight-grained
Like the boy himself

Is dedicated in memory of 2nd Lt. Malcolm L. Blue
navigator of a liberator bomber with the Eighth Air Force.

Killed in action over France June 2, 1944

Few Men Have Earned So Fine A Memorial.

DIRECTIONS AND CLUES: Take Route 28 north from Inlet, New York. Cathedral Pines is on the lake side of Route 28 and you must look carefully for the NYS DEC sign that says Cathedral Pines. If you have made it to the 8th Lake Campground turn off you have gone too far and will need to turn around. There are sandy pull offs on either side of Route 28 for your parking convenience. Once you have located the path that enters the woods your round trip will be a short .2 mile.

Following the red/orange trail markers take the upper path that will lead you to a standing of very old white pine trees.
Take the time to look up and enjoy these majestic trees. Continue along the trail until you come to a giant that has fallen.
The tall tree lies to the right of the trail extending into the woods with the based also going into the trailway.
Walk along the giant on the roadside until you come almost to the end. You will notice a large (6-8" in diameter) limb resting against the giant behind it under sticks and leaves is Tyler's Box. B'ar

After stamping in continue along the trail. You will start to descend while bearing to your left. At the bottom of this short hill you will see a monument. (Kind of odd in the middle of the forest).
