Today’s letterboxing adventure is easy to moderate and will take about 45 to 60 minutes. Start by filling in the blanks below:
a) shake, _____, and roll
b) If it had been a _____, it would have bitten you.
c) up a _____ without a paddle
We all know Mom and Dad can fill these out. Give the little ones a chance! Together, these words spell out your destination.
Go east on East Spruce until the very end (it curves) and cross the railroad tracks going north. Measure about 1.5 miles north of the tracks. At this point, take a right, go straight for a block, and then follow the road to your left. You should see “LUKE’S” on a nearby building. Park your car.
Follow the main trail north. There is a farm on the left. You’ll see several small footpaths on the right, but to find the letterbox, you’ll need only one of these at the end. You’ll come to a fork in the road; both trails (the lighter one which goes straight and the main one which goes right and down) lead to the same place.
At the end of the main trail, you’ll see a small path to the right. Take the path until you see a fence. There is a clump of trees on the left. Behind these trees, you’ll find a circle of rocks. Reach in the middle and find a letterbox!
As an added bonus, I’ve placed a box with a brainteaser underneath the cement of the large log bench.
Have fun!
