To reach Zinn Park from Falmouth:
Take Woods Hole Road from Falmouth Center (sign says "Woods Hole/Martha's Vineyard). Travel about 1.5 miles, looking for a large sign of logs on left that says "Treetops". Pass sign road curves left, just after curve turn LEFT on Ransom Rd. (It is hidden until the last moment).

Travel down Ransom Road about 2/10 mile, go down a steep hill and road turns right. Soon thereafter the tiny 1-car parking space for Zinn Park will be on your RIGHT. There is a rock with a brass plaque marking the spot.

Clues:

Mosquito creek runs near the spot. Creek has many frogs as well as mosquitos. You will pass over on a foot bridge.

Follow trail along hillside. Much poison ivy, but look for wild raspberries.

Trail branches, a white pipe marks the spot. Turn left.

You will see a very large tree on the left with letters and a heart carved on it.

You are now entering blueberry country, if it's August or September. Seek a pair of fairly large beech trees on the left, one behind the other.

Now count 55 paces and look left for a lichen-covered rock. Box is buried behind rock.

You are in Ladyslipper country now. If it is early June, you will see ladyslipper orchids scattered everywhere on the forest floor. They are very beautiful and delicate. Please be very careful not to damage them, and NEVER pick one.

Happy hunting!
