As a letterboxer, you have no doubt come to appreciate the beauty of relief printing, and all the work and care asociated with this art form. This box celebrates a printing studio that will amaze your eyes and boggle your mind.

Adelphi Paperhanging is a small atalier that produces historic wallpaper for museums and historic homes. Using historically accurate methods and materials, they re-create wallpaper from around 1720 through 1860. (They did the paper for the Lincoln Bedroom at the White House.)

Adelphi Paperhangings' studio is located in the block of buildings at the corner of Route 20 and Route 10 in Sharon Springs. Although the artisans at Adelphi know about this box, the studio is not open for public tours. Take a peep in the window, and gawk at the process of hand block printing yards and yards of muti-colored wallpaper, but don't distract the printers!

The box is hidden on the porch inside of the double-sided birdfeeder. Let's hope the squirrels don't take an interest in it!

As this is a fairly large image (and frankly, as it can be a bit tempermental), you may want to bring along larger sheets of paper and then paste your print into your logbook when you get home. I have not provided ink, but designed the image with black ink in mind. Feel free to sit on the porch and stamp, just don't make the neighbors too curious!
