THIS BOX HAS BEEN BURIED BY AN ONSLAUGHT OF SAND AND DEBRIS DUE TO HIGH WATERS THIS SEASON!! FEEL FREE TO DIG, BUT I PLAN TO DIG IT UP AND REHIDE IT IN A BETTER, DRIER SPOT THIS SUMMER!! I'LL KEEP YOU POSTED ON THIS ONE!!

Find Maupin City Park in the lower part of Maupin, Oregon, close to the Deschutes River. It’s where Hubbydoug and I camp when we go rafting on the Deschutes. It’s right on the river and the grassy spots are great for keeping out of the dust. The park is actually split into two section divided by Bakeoven Creek. You’ll want to find the tent sites on the north side of Bakeoven Creek. You can get there from the Deschutes River access road that is used to shuttle back and forth between Maupin and Sandy Beach (the final takeout spot on this section of the river). Find tent site #17. On the back side of the site, there’s a path that take you right to the river. Not far down this path is a group of three trees with peeling bark. Not more than 20 feet to the left of this trio is another set of fairly distinct triplets. There at the base of the three, under rock is the Deschutes Rafter!!!
