Put in for a permit for the beautiful Middle Fork of the Salmon River and raft away.
Land across from Ship Island Creek at the Ship Island Camp. Go up to the sandy camp level. Upstream to the large boulder with a large pine to its right. To the right of the pine under the smallest of the 2 rocks lies the Ship's Island Letterbox.
Enjoy the rest of your float. The last day of the trip had the best rapids. =-)
