Calling all Muggles! Do you dare enter the Forbidden Forest?

Please note:
The Forbidden Forest LB is on the Property of Pilgrim Pines, a Christian camp and conference center that is owned and operated by the East Coast Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church (220 West Shore Rd., Swanzey NH 03446). Please be respectful of the property and the people you might meet on the grounds.

There is a small beach and snack bar near this letterbox that Pilgrim Pines generously makes available to public day users. Day users are asked to check in - directions are posted on the front of the snack bar. (It is unnecessary to check in if you are just going to find the LB.) Bring your swimsuit and have a great burger or ice cream while you look for this letterbox. The gift shop has some great “finds” including autograph books for $1.50 that make great LB logbooks.

First aid: BUGS might be in the vicinity. Bring bug repellant or tuck a dryer sheet in the neckline of your T-shirt.

Clues:
On West Shore Rd, pass through Camp Squanto and by a sign that says “Pilgrim Pines.”
Continue down the road and pass the basketball courts (on the right).
Park in the gift shop parking lot on the right. (Gift shop is just past the basketball courts.)
(If there is no room in the lot, turn left slightly before the gift shop, drive up the hill and park in the lot on the left across from the tennis courts.)

Proceed east on West Shore Rd. by foot.
Cross the slightly flowing waters.
Pass the tree of many trunks.
Turn left at the intersection – note boulder #1 on the corner.
Carefully walk past the three Musketrees.
Pass boulder #2 (on your right).
At boulder #3 (on your right) begin counting steps.
At 42 urban steps is a snag.*
Stand on the north side of the snag.
Take a compass reading of 100-degrees.
Walk to the birch tree(34 urban steps).
What you seek is hidden in the roots.
