AS OF JUNE 20TH, 2007 THIS BOX IS OFFICIALLY MISSING DUE TO THE FLOODS THAT HIT THE BINGHAMTON AREA. IT WILL BE RECARVED AND REPLACED, SO PLEASE RETURN FOR UPDATES

Summer Thunder is located on the Chugnut River Walk, a paved path that winds along the banks of the Susquehanna River. The letterbox is easily accessable by bike or hike. Except for getting to the exact location of the letterbox, it is also accessable by wheelchair.

Directions to the Chugnut River Walk
Arrive in Endicott, NY. Drive on Main Street (17C) until you come to the stoplight at the corner of Main Street and Vestal Ave.
Turn south away from the two gas stations on the corner.
Go two blocks. Take a left onto River Terrace, the road immediately before the big green bridge.
You will see a brown "Chugnut River Walk" sign on your right, and the paved path leading up to the River Walk.

Directions to "Summer Thunder"
Follow the paved path down behind the large cement wall. Keep walking until you reach the end of the cement wall. At the end of the wall you will see a wooden fence to your right, and a chain link fence for a tennis court on your left. Continue walking down the paved path. About halfway along the length of the tennis fence, there should be a door in the fence allowing access to the court. Walk past this, until you are halfway between the door and the end of the fence. Nearby is a noticable dirt path with lots of trees heading down to the river's edge. Walk down this dirt path. As you get to the bottom of the path, turn around and face the way you just came. You'll see a cement culvert in the side of the hill. To the left of this culvert are two fallen logs. Look under the left log to find "Summer Thunder"

This box may need to be removed in early spring due to potential flooding problems. Don't hesitate to contact me to make sure the box is in place before you search. Let me know when you find the box, and if it needs attention.
