Directions: Go South on Rt.550 1/2 mile outside of the town Ouray and
turn right into sign for Box Canyon

Easy, enjoy the hike to the falls in the summer or the ice climbers in
the winter.

Box Canyon Letterbox clues:
I planted this on my winter visit so the falls were closed but there
were plenty of ice climbers to watch- even some "chicks with picks"!!!!!

To find your box in this Box Canyon go over the bridge, past the visitor center and just beyond the sign VEHICLES EXIT HERE take the small trail on the left. Walk 10 steps to the first pine tree on your left and under its roots lie your quest.

This letterbox had very many visitors in it's original four year life span. The original stamp that was placed by Floating Feather was a Thunderbird, and in 2003 it was the first letterbox I ever found. It went missing in the Spring of 2006.
A week later I edited the clues to show that the box was gone forever, but I was too late because Jessi and Echo had already printed the clues and went looking for it. After finding there was no box there, they put one of their own stamps together with a makeshift journal to keep the box alive.
So this letterbox has taken on a life of it's own. It is owned partly by me, partly by Jessi and Echo, and of course by the original placer Floating Feather.
Enjoy.
