This box was placed during the 80th Pony Penning Event. The stamp was carved by b#1 when he was 9 years old, in case that matters.

Your search starts at Memorial Park in Chincoteague, where crowds gather on the last Wednesday in July to watch the saltwater cowboys herd the ponies on their swim from Assateague to Chincoteague Islands.

Look for the pedestrian path that starts at the playground. Take that path, past the basketball courts and around the tennis courts, to the baseball diamond. On your right, just past the dugout, is a large pine tree. A concrete lamppost is directly across the path from that pine tree. Standing in between the lamppost and the pine tree, take 33 paces toward where the path ends in the parking lot. On your right will be two small pine trees. Just behind those pines is a three-trunked tree/bush. The treasure lies underneath the trunk farthest from the path.

This park is well-used, especially in the summer. Please be discrete and rehide well. We would love any updates on the condition of the box, and any maintenance help would be much appreciated as this box was placed during a vacation trip.
