At campsite - get map at Main Office or Country Store
Drive or walk up hill to Wilderness sites.
Trail begins opposite side of road from campsite # 278A
Keep rock wall on left.
Walk 10 - 15 minutes.
See meadow on right over wall.( private property)
Rock wall will meet up with another rock wall forming a " T"
At this "T" juncture, the walls form a 10 ft by 15 ft rectangular rock pile 1 to 2 ft high. There is a tree marked with a blue paint dot.
A tree is growing out of the rock pile. The letterbox is between the "V' of the trunk under a mini-rock pile.

The box is rather small, so you have to take extra care to squish all the contents back inside of it.

Beware of poison ivy, there is a tenacious patch that threatens to grow over one section of the path.

If you continue along the path after the letterbox, you immediately come to a small clearing. Just beyond it the path leads to the farthest wilderness campsite and you can follow the dirt road back to where you started and end by the restroom and shower shack.

Under the deadwood we discovered red-spotted newts and red-backed salamnders. If you find one with a bent tail, say " Hi" . We found him twice in one week.
