This box is in the Red Canyon Scenic Area of the Dixie National Forest on the road to Bryce Canyon National Park. It is at an elevation of about 7420 feet, so expect some snow on it part of the year. From U.S. Highway 89, drive east on State Highway 12. Between mile posts 4 & 5, a short distance past the second tunnel, there is a pullout parking area on the left (north) side of the highway. In the parking area there is a small interpretive sign which includes a discussion about Butch Cassidy.

From the parking area walk east on a dirt trail for a short distance then turn north on an old dirt road which goes up the canyon. At a brown post with a yellow no camping sign, the dirt road will curve into the wash. Walk up the wash for awhile. The dirt road will then go off to the right out of the wash. It will then go into the wash again and up the wash for a short distance and then leave the wash to the left. About 20 steps up the road from where it leaves the wash there is an old weathered stump on the left side of the road. From this stump, go at about 330 degrees (from mag. north) up slope for about 57 steps. When you do your steps you will walk past a large Pine Tree on your left and then a large Juniper Tree on your right and then arrive at a moderate size sprawling Juniper Tree which is next to a very small Pine Tree. The box is on the north side of the moderate size sprawling Juniper Tree. The box is under a pile of rocks, twigs, and plant debris. Be alert for snakes!

Please please be sure the contents are double ziplocked when you put them back in the box (i.e. the stamp is in a ziploc, the book is in a ziploc, and the two are in the larger ziploc bag) and put all of it INSIDE the box. Please rehide the box well under the rocks and cover it with some twigs and plant debris so that it can not be seen from any direction.

I will not be able to check on this box; so, please let me know if you find it, or if it needs attention or is missing:
