Trail difficulty: fairly easy, a fairly flat dirt forest trail

This box is in the Kaibab National Forest near the small community of Jacob Lake which is along the road to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. The box is hidden behind the Jacob Lake Campground (USFS) which is on the east side of U. S. Highway 89A and across the highway from the Jacob Lake Inn. It is at an elevation of about 7820 feet, so expect snow on it part of the year. Take U.S. Highway 89A to Jacob Lake. Park in the small dirt pullout on the campground side of Highway 89A. It is about half way between the campground entrance and the inn.
Walk into the campground and go to the trailhead for the Kai-Vav-Wi Trail which is between campsites 27 and 31. The trail sign is behind the restroom. Walk east on this trail. In about 5 minutes or so you will arrive at a concrete bench on the right side of the trail. From this bench continue on the trail for about 188 steps to 5 small white boulders on the right side of trail. From the rock closest to the trail go at about 10 degrees (from mag. north) for about 82 steps. The box is under some rocks covered with some plant debris about 1 step exactly north from upturned gnarly tree roots. Be alert for snakes!
Please please be sure the contents are double ziplocked when you put them back in the box (i.e. the stamp is in a ziploc, the book is in a ziploc, and the two are in the larger ziploc bag) and put all of it INSIDE the box. Please rehide the box well under the rocks and cover it with some twigs and plant debris so that it can not be seen from any direction.
