To find this bird, you need to go to another big bird: the Eagle at the top of the Parkway in Utica. Head towards New Hatford on Oneida Street until you pass New Forest Cemetary. Look for Master Garden Rd. on the left -- just before Old Forest Hill Cemetary. The road goes up the hill between the two cemetaries.
When the view of the Mohawk Valley opens up, you'll see a ski lift, and the well-known sculpture of an eagle that was released to its freedom from this spot.
Look in the direction that the eagle's right wing is pointing. You'll see a large shrub alongside the cemetary fence. The letterbox is well inside the base of the shrub, covered by dead leaves.
Please replace it deep inside after stamping, and cover it well with dead leaves once again.
This a great spot to bring a kite to fly, by the way...
