UPDATE: Pulled for maintenance 4/25/08

My dad, aka Pa John, is the person who drew the picture the stamp is based on. I'm not sure, but I think this is based on him. This letterbox has been placed in his honor, since it's the first one he's drawn for me.

Landahl Park Reserve is popular with mountain bikers. The park includes many miles of trails designated for mountain biking, for people of all levels and skills. Other activities include horseback riding trails, 5 soccer fields, a softball field, picnic shelter, picnic tables, primitive group camping, hiking, and cross country skiing in the winter. Primitive restrooms are located within the park. This is on a mountainbike trail, so please be aware. It may be a little tricky if there has been recent rain.

Directions to trail:

Take I-70 to the 7 Highway exit. Go north to Argo Road and turn east (right). At this turnoff, there will be a sign for the shooting range. Follow Argo Road along some winding roads. Turn left into the parking lot across the street from the shelter.

Directions to letterbox:

Walk out of the parking area via the northeast corner. After a few yards, there is a sign/pole indicating a more difficult trail to the right. Follow this trail into the woods. After a short distance, there is a tree stump on your left with 2 trunks, followed by a tall skinny tree that's almost naked. Soon you will reach a small wooden "bridge" in your path. Below the widest plank is your prize. It can best be reached from the far side of the bridge or from the right side.

Please rehide the box carefully and use the usual precautions.
