DIRECTIONS: Take I-69 to Exit 189 (Wales Center Rd). Turn right on Lapeer (second right). Turn right on Goodells Rd (second right). Turn left on County Park Dr. You will see the big white barn to the Goodells Farm Museum. Park across the street from this at the Community Center.

HISTORY: When I was growing up my brother and I entered all kinds of things in the 4-H Fair that was held here every year: goats, pigeons, photography, vegetables, crafts, bake goods. It was the only money that we got all year. We saved the money to buy Christmas presents for each other at the end of the year.

RECOMMENDATIONS: Take the clues for Wolf Family Beginning since it is very near to here. Ink and pen is provided in this box, but I would bring some just in case it has gone dry.

NOTE: This box is very far away from me so it is not likely to be maintained. I will need to rely on the kindness of strangers to update me on its condition. Please be careful to rehide this box well. Most of the time this park is vacant but when the fair is on or groups are gathering for family reunions here it can be very busy so be mindful of who may be watching so that it does not turn up missing later.

HIKE: Short and easy. It's only about a 5 minute walk.

CLUE: After parking at the Community Center, walk pass the three barns named after different colors (though they are not painted to reflect these colors). Continue pass the rest rooms and the path will dead end at the Riverside Shelter. Between the swings and the 4 animal friends is a path to a bridge. Cross over the bridge (do not go up the stairs). Take the path to the right for about 13 steps and you will see a light path on your left leading up the hill. At the top of this path that emerges into a great open field is a large iron bar on the ground. The second large iron bar covers the letterbox you seek. Carefully look inside the end of the bar nearest the path that you came from.
