DIRECTIONS: Access the Wildflower Garden using the entrance next to the Forest Home bridge at the intersection of Forest Home Drive and Caldwell Road, where parking is available. A detailed map is located here: http://www.plantations.cornell.edu/collections/natareas/Public/Mundy/Mundy_overview.htm.

HISTORY: The Cornell Plantations were established in and around 1935. You can learn more about the multitudes of gardens available at Cornell's website: http://www.plantations.cornell.edu/.

ESTIMATED HIKE TIME & DIFFICULTY: Approximately half an hour if you don't take your time & smell the flowers. Terrain is easy for walking & strollers.

CLUES: Begin by following the path near the parking lot along Fall Creek. The water will be on your right side. You will pass an overlook. You will come to a large sign full of information about the different plants present in the garden on your left. Enter the garden through a gated entrance just beyond this sign.

Follow the dirt path down the hill. Cross over a small wooden bridge. When you come to a T in the path, take the first right down a grassy path. Take a moment to enjoy the waterfall before bearing left towards New Jersey tea. Continue on the gravel path.

Once you see a tree with an orange blaze, follow the sign for the Mundy Stone Loop to the right. Cross a second wooden bridge. At the next tree with an orange blaze, follow the sign to the left. If you are lucky, you will find a Shooting Star.

Continuing along the path, you will pass a memorial bench on your left. Find the Muriel B. Mundy Stone near hooked buttercup and look to your right. There you will see a fallen log. The hollowed end points to the hiding spot of your prize.

After rehding the box amongst the many trunked tree, walk back to the stone and follow the next sign for the Mundy Stone Loop. You will cross a final wooden bridge before heading up a slight hill which leads back to the path to the parking lot. Enjoy!
