Located at the beautiful Chippewa Hills Pathway. From US 23, turn west onto Nicholson Hill Road at the blinking light in Ossineke, MI. Continue for 11 miles (road will eventually become gravel) noting the signs to Chippewa Hills Pathway along the way. Turn left onto Kissau Road and then right at the first driveway you come to--it's not far.

At the trailhead you will notice the path immediately forks--take the left path. Not long after you enter the forest, you'll encounter a sign that points back to the parking lot. Continue straight, though, and follow the path until you come to point 12. Standing facing the marker at 12 (and therefore also facing the point created by the diverging paths), look to your right, at about 2:30 in clock terms. You will see about 12 paces in (each pace a single footfall) a clump of three large trees--I think they are poplars. A fourth trunk in this clump had been sawed off and its remains are on the ground, pointing towards the path. Look on the ground behind this clump of trees; in the pocket formed by the trunks you will find the box.

You may return by retracing your steps (the quickest way) or take in Loop B by taking the left path to 11-3-2-1 (a worthy challenge if you have the time!) For most folks, though, I would recommend completing Loop A by taking the right path from point 12 to point 2, and then another right back to 1 (the parking lot.) It's a nice walk and if you are visiting in late summer or early fall (Labor Day is a good time) you will encounter several blackberry bushes along the way ripe for the picking. In fact, just before you descend the hill to reach the parking lot, you'll discover a little clearing to your right filled with them. Reward your efforts with a snack!

Terrain: Easy/moderate. There are a few steep hills if you choose to complete Loop A.
Distance to box: Under a mile

Insect repellant is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for a comfortable walk.
