======================================================

Michigan Tech was founded in 1885 as the Michigan Mining School and then bacame Michigan College of Mines. As the school fell on hard times and almost going under, they decided to add engineering to its curriculum in 1931. In 1964 it became Michigan Technological University and has remained one of the best engineering schools in the country.(Not that she's biased!)

If you have ever been to a Tech hockey game you have probably noticed the extremely annoying pep band (a reputation I believe they are very proud of), and one of their popular songs is The Engineers:

We are, we are, we are, we are, we are the Eigineers.
We can, we can, we can, we can, we can drink all of 40 beers.
Drink up, drink up, drink up, drink up and come along with us.
For we don't give a damn for any man who don't give a damn for us.

Clues:
After driving to MTU, park near the Administration building and head on foot towards campus. Find the sign to the Chemistry/Chemical Engineering Building. Directly behind you, you will find the Memorial Union Building. Once facing the building, you will see a bench on the left. Have a seat. Right behind the bench, in the raised bed, lies a log. The box, for which you are looking rests inside.
