Oregon Country Fair Letterbox

The Oregon Country Fair was originally established in 1969 as a small benefit for Children's Community School. It has since incorporated into a non-profit organization for charitable and educational purposes. The site itself, nestled in Veneta about 14 miles west of Eugene, dates back some 11,000 years and has been a gathering place and crossroads on ancient Indian trails. Country Fair Archaeology has worked closely with the University of Oregon Department of Geology, Oregon State Museum of Natural History, and Oregon State Historical Preservation Office for many years, helping study and preserve the area.

Oregon Country Fair is a brilliant, colorful, three-day feast for the senses—a truly unique event in this world, and certainly not to be missed. Rare is the festival that attracts a greater diversity of attendees, provides as many different yet complimentary genres of live entertainment, and evokes more cultural, environmental, and social awareness than the Oregon Country Fair. Inside there is over 250 Craft Booths, more than 70 Food Booths, an Energy Park, History & Archaeology Booths, 3 Vaudeville Stages alive all day with musicians, magicians, jugglers, puppets, storytellers, and other imaginative performers, and a Child Care site staffed by volunteers providing music, theater, costumes, crafts, face painting, stories and a variety of other entertainment for the kids..

The fair is always held on the weekend following the 4th of July, this year will be it’s 36th annual. For tickets and much more information visit http://www.oregoncountryfair.org/
