Bring black ink and pen.

From the junction of Routes 69 and 322, go north on 69 for 0.1 miles and turn left onto Mad River Road. Go 0.2 miles and turn left into Peterson Memorial Park.

This is just under three miles round trip on pretty flat ground but with lots of rocks and tree roots to maneuver around.

After parking the car follow along to the left of the basketball courts and head into the woods where there's a sign on a tree telling you that this is the Mattatuck Trail, another one in CT's blue blazed trail system. It's a pretty wide trail, watch for the blue blazes at all times. Most of the way you'll be following along the edge of a stream that's pretty in the spring when full of water. Cross over three bridges and keep walking until you see an old foundation right on the trail(remember this will be about a mile or more along the way). This will be shortly after passing a VERY large erratic on the left. About 38 or 40 steps before the foundation (don't worry, you can't miss it, must have been a mill?) look to your left and spot a rock outcropping with a very large tree with a very large letterboxing cavity at it's base. No, the box isn't in there even though I was tempted. Climb up to the back of the tree and walk 22 steps at 290 degrees (almost straight ahead)to a two sister tree and at the base is the Lucky Stripe that you're looking for.
Rehide well, I "think" this spot has other uses.

The second box was once a bonus so the clues might still be in the log book. Feel free to cross them out for me. Thanks.
Continue on, cross over the foundation and after crossing under the power lines, turn left on the dirt road, walk about 300 feet, then turn left into the woods at the double turn blaze. After stepping on the first big rock, look behind the second big rock on the left of of the trail.
Thanks
