Hi All,
This is an easy box to locate and a beautiful area for a treasure hunt. No matter what time of year this is a great area to visit. A few things to do in the area may include one of the many festival's mostly in the fall but you may catch one at various times of the year. Apple season is awesome! Check out some of the many antique shops or just take a hike. There is a lot of history from the Indian Heritage to the Georgia Marble mining.
From the big city of Atlanta, take I-75 North to Hwy 575 North. This road will change into Hwy-515. Stay north and enjoy the views. Watch for the Talking Rock signs, you are getting close. Do the rocks really talk?
The next road to your right past the Talking Rock turn off is Carns Mill Rd. Take a right. Go down about half a mile to a place where families can enjoy some quality time and maybe feast on a smore or two over a campfire. If its a really warm day you may want to put your toes into the cool water of Talona Creek.
Now to find your prize you will follow the loop back around to the covered amenities area. Attached to the shelter is an old fire place from one of the original structures here many years ago. Look around inside the fire place, inside and OUT. Look up down and all around and you will find what you are looking for on the ledge.
